Ticket Resale

Let guests resell their tickets peer-to-peer through Eventually

Overview

Eventually includes a built-in ticket resale marketplace. Guests who can no longer attend can list their ticket for sale, and other buyers can purchase it directly through the platform.

Ticket resale is available on Pro plan and above.

How Sellers List a Ticket

  1. The original buyer opens their confirmation email or ticket page
  2. They click Resell ticket
  3. They set a resale price (subject to any cap set by the organizer)
  4. The listing goes live in the event's resale marketplace

The original ticket is put on hold while listed. If the listing expires or is removed, the ticket returns to the original buyer.

How Buyers Purchase a Resale Ticket

  1. On the event page, buyers see a Resale tickets available section if any listings exist
  2. They select a listing and proceed to checkout
  3. Payment is processed through Stripe

On successful purchase:

  • The buyer receives a new QR ticket
  • The original ticket is invalidated
  • The seller receives a Stripe payout

Stripe Payouts to Sellers

Resale proceeds are paid out to the seller's payment method via Stripe. Eventually does not take a platform fee on resale transactions.

Sellers must have a valid payment method on file to list a ticket. If they do not, they are prompted to add one before the listing goes live.

Payouts follow Stripe's standard payout schedule (typically 2 business days after a successful transaction).

Organizer Controls

As an organizer, you can:

  • Enable or disable resale per event in Event settings → Tickets → Allow resale
  • Set a maximum resale price to prevent scalping (e.g., cap at 150% of face value)
  • View active listings in the event's Resale tab

Resale is disabled by default. You must explicitly enable it for each event.
